The correct answer, according to her friends, is Julie Cohn of A Little Bite of Life….Sverve’s Influencer of the Week. As she puts it, she’s “A little bit of homemaker, a little bit of attitude…and a lot of fun!” She put down her camera and kitchen utensils and accordion long enough to answer our questions last week.
How long have you been blogging? What motivated you to start?
I have been blogging almost four years. One of my writing professors in college suggested I write a book. I was not ready for that yet, so my best friend suggested I start a blog about my favorite topics: Cooking, travel, and family.
What is your blog about?
Self-developed recipes, cocktails and wine, luxury and family travel, entertainment, and family lifestyle.
This inscription is on the inside of a cookbook given to Julie by her grandma. She still uses it. On the count of three, everyone say, “Awwwww.”
Tell us three of your passions that don’t include blogging.
-My son’s school – I volunteer a lot, including being a past PTO President.
-Wiener dogs
-Board games
What’s your best advice to someone new to the blogosphere?
Figure out what your niche is going to be, then stick with it. There are so many different directions to go in blogging, and it can be easy to be tempted by offers, but you need to know who you are and what you love. Use an editorial calendar to stay on track. Stick with it. Blogging can be very difficult and frustrating, but four years later, I wake up every single day proud of my hard work and loving everything I do.
