Today we have Erin Piccione from Unconventional Mommy Tails!  This veterinary technician blogs about everything from animals to babies! Check out her blog and learn more about her on her site!

How did you begin blogging?

I consider myself to be a newer blogger because I just started last May. I thought about it for a long while before I finally decided to jump in. The main reason I started was for another social outlet during the day. I’m a stay at home mom while my husband is at work and was missing a social life. It gets difficult to just speak baby all day.

What are your preferred blogging topics?

I like to blog about what I like to read. I love personal topics about daily life with a mix of DIY, recipes, parenting, and tons of humor. I’m a registered veterinary technician so I also like to promote and provide animal health tips.

What are your 3 favorite blog posts?

One of the most common questions I get asked when people find out my career is how I deal with the loss of a patient. I wrote a post all about it.http://www.unconventionalmommytails.com/2013/08/the-emotional-strain-of-sick-pets.html

My recipe for some amazing banana bread.

10 things I learned during the first year of raising a baby.

What are you up to when not blogging?

When I’m not blogging 95% of my free time is taken up by my one year old son and / or keeping the house clean. The other few percent is my nightlife of working at an emergency veterinary hospital.

What are your tips for balancing family life & blogging.

This is a tough one because my husband complains that I’m “always” on the computer. Psh, it’s so not true. We have set up some general rules where I will blog while he’s watching a football game that I don’t want to watch or something along those lines. I also take full advantage of nap time to get some work done.

Why & how do you use Sverve?

I use Sverve because I have found that they provide high quality companies that are fun to work with. They have many different options for sponsored posts so you’re never going to have to write about something that you don’t have a relation too. I also use it to find new blogs to follow since you have the option to share your writing directly on their website.
