Hi! My name is Laurie Floyd and I blog over at Steals and Deals for Kids. My site features daily deals, product reviews, crafts, recipes, parenting articles and more! I started blogging about 5 years ago.
I have seven grandchildren, who are the light of my life! One of my favorite things to do as a grandparent is to spoil my grandkids so I love to find great deals! Once I started finding great deals I got excited and wanted to share them with everyone and that is how Steals and Deals for Kids got started. I am also a second grade teacher, so as you can see I love kids! I think children are God’s greatest blessings!
In addition to posting deals on my site, I also enjoy doing product reviews. I will only recommend products or services that I feel are beneficial to my readers. I am a full time teacher so finding the balance to blog and do my daily job is tough. I get up at 5:00 a.m. every morning to post deals before I go to work and then I start posting again around 7:00 p.m. after dinner. If I have product reviews or sponsored posts I have to work on the weekends or late at night. It is hard to juggle both jobs but they are both so rewarding to me that I can’t let either one of them go!!
I really enjoy working with Sverve and have gotten several opportunities from them. I think that I have been successful with Sverve because I try to take my time when writing a post and do the very best that I can for the company that I am representing. I try very hard to not have any grammatical errors when I am writing and to be very professional with each opportunity that comes my way no matter how big or how small.
My best blogging tip would be to always be professional. Some of my jobs have led me to other jobs and I have also been able to work with a few companies more than once because of my professionalism. It’s hard sometimes because an item that I am reviewing may not be what I expected. I will always be honest…but in a nice way!
The thing I like the most about blogging is that my blog belongs to me. It represents me. It gives me a sense of accomplishment to see it growing and I have made so many new friends in the blogging world!
