How,when &/or why did you being blogging?
I started blogging back in 2011, with my first blog Young Work at Home Moms. I started the blog as a way to track my online income journey and to help others find out about new ways that I ran across to work from home. In 2012, I started my second blog, Giveaways 4 Moms, which was initially supposed to be a blog to help moms stay in tune with giveaways happening throughout the web yet over the years it has grown to be so much more.
How did you choose your blog’s title?
I chose my blog Giveaways 4 Mom title because I knew I wanted to focus on providing moms with giveaways that were solely for them. Initially, I wanted the name to be Giveaways For Moms but at the time that domain name was already taken by someone else.
What are you preferred blogging topics?
I prefer to blog about reviews, parenting, social media, and of course giveaways. Everything I blog about on Giveaways 4 Mom is relevant to moms though.
What are your three favorite blog posts?
My favorite three blog posts are Busch Gardens Mommy Meet Up, Bet on Your Baby, and How to Parent Effectively When Dealing With Depression. I chose these three because Busch Gardens was first experienced when I was blogging, the Bet on Your Baby post allowed me to write a letter to my boys, and lastly my depression posts allowed my readers to get to know me a little more.
What are you up to when not blogging?
When I am not blogging, I am working full time as a professional online writer or spending time with my three boys.
What are your tips for balancing family life and blogging?
You have to have a schedule in place. You also have to make sure that you stick to your schedule and if you run out of time during your scheduled day do not let it affect family time. Instead, work when the kids are in bed but never try to work past 12 am.
Why and how do you use Sverve?
I use Sverve to connect with brands and other bloggers. When I am not applying for campaigns I log in and look through other bloggers tips to see what I can learn from them. Some of the posts that bloggers have shared there have enabled me to be able to expand my blog further than I ever imagined.
Do you have any tips for your success on Sverve?
I would say share tips, read the newsletters that come from Sverve, connect with other bloggers and read their tips too. Overall, spend a few hours a week there connecting with others and learning and the platform will benefit you greatly. Even if you are not approved for campaigns when first joining you can definitely learn many things from the tips that are shared there along.
Can you share any blogging tips that have really helped you?
There are just so many. However, I would say the main things that helped me were using StumbleUpon to stumble posts, creating an email list, keeping my blog and social media channels updated frequently (at minimum five times per week), not only sharing my blog’s content on my social media channels, and using videos in blog posts occasionally.
What do you love most about blogging?
I love being able to express myself freely on the web and being able to meet so many wonderful people that I would have never met without blogging.
