Today we have Ria from “IT’S MY PARTY” blog as our Influencer of the Week! Continue reading to learn her keys for success!

How did you begin blogging?

I began blogging around 2006 but it was very personal. I did it in the old Friendster platform. I switched to Blogger and WordPress in 2008 due to the prodding of my uncle.

I love to write. I am not the best writer but I just love to blast all these thoughts in my head and transpose them into words so stuff I could not say, I just write. I also have the bad habit of putting my bubble thoughts in audio, which always get me in trouble. Why subject myself to that when I can just write my thoughts, right? And blogging has been a great avenue for that.

What are you preferred blogging topics?

I love to talk about what’s close to my heart – my family, life experiences and other general topics like health, fitness and wellness, business and finance, career, arts and craft and product/service reviews.

What are your three favorite blog posts?

I love writing how I feel and dedicating them to family.  There are few “open letters” in my blog that I love to read over and over again because they pull my heartstring.

I love this post, THE CORPORATE LADDER – IS IT WORTH THE CLIMB?  I made few years ago when I was struggling so hard to be recognized at work and how much I tried to reach the top only to keep tumbling down. So I had a long thought about the whole process and figured, my family will always comes first and no, the corporate ladder was not worth climbing for me.

And here are the other two posts, MOMMIE DEAREST and  TO DADDY  that I have dedicated to my parents few years ago when I was reeling over my dad’s passing. It’s my way of telling my parents how much they mean to me.

What are you up to when not blogging?

I am not always glued to the chair in front of my laptop blogging. I am also a fulltime career woman and a mom. When I am not blogging, I am shopping! I need my retail therapy once in a while.

What are your tips for balancing family life and blogging?

Sometimes, the balancing act between my family, career and my me time can be very challenging. It’s all about Time Management! That’s all there is to it. I try to schedule my blog activities every weekend and limit them to few hours during weekdays. I also want to enjoy some quality family time without having to be guilty of doing one thing more than the other.

Why and how do you use Sverve?

I love to use Sverve because it connects me to a lot of mommies out there who are influential authorities in their field of expertise. The tips they share to the whole community are so valuable.

Do you have any tips for your success on Sverve?

Thanks for considering me successful in Sverve. I think being sincere with your dealings with everyone in Sverve community, endorsing other members; by promoting their posts and fulfilling campaign tasks on time are things that helped me sustain my score in Sverve. I really make it a point to help boost other Sverve members’ posts via social networks. Karma is a powerful cosmic energy out there and I want good vibes to come back. So, help each other out and help will come back in hundred folds.

Can you share any blogging tips that have really helped you?

I leave comments to other blogs. It’s a good way to earn backlinks and don’t just leave comments for the sake of leaving trails. Make sure your comments are relevant. Make you use keywords properly. Put them in your post title, label, category or description for good SEO. Also, putting images in your posts are great way to increase traffic.

What do you love most about blogging?

I love blogging because it allows me to spew those thoughts in my head in a productive manner. I love the fact that while I am passionate about blogging, I also get to meet new people, establish camaraderie with brands and sponsors, learn new things and augment my income.

It’s nice to meet you Ria! I agree it is a lot of fun to meet new people and to establish camaraderie with brands and sponsors. I have also noticed that I care much more about how well my posts are written. It’s just a win, win situation no matter how you look at it.
